About This Project
This is a boathouse we took over from a failed contractor and built into a nice project. It features a nice sized storage room designed to leave the most of the available view by angling the main walls while leaving a lot of space inside. The angled walls make a huge difference over a rectangle storage room. Even while standing directly in front of the steel door you still have a 270 degree view of the surrounding lake.
I am carrying this and all of my other design aspects over to Shoretech Marine from my last company, – along with under-lighted bench rails so you can safely navigate the boathouse while still being able to see the stars, boatslip safety rails to keep accidental falls from happening, and more importantly there are NEVER any inside 90 degree angles on our marine projects.
All open corners are filled in – for two reasons. The main one is safety. Its much more difficult to fall into a large decked-over angled corner than an open 90 degree one where a walkway encounters a pier for instance. And that additional fillet decking area is always a nice “extra” where barbeque pits or other items may be stored temporarily, out of the way of the regular foot traffic (especially those headed for the Monster Swing!).
She will be all ready for summer by next weekend – when the lifts & electrical go in~!
The final design aspect is the “Monster Swing” which will keep kids of all ages happy… if you can get it away from the adults! With its 34″ raised launch pad and diving platform, this design will definitely take the “boring” out of any shoreline facility.
It is perfectly designed so that the sweep of the rope keeps the user’s feet from hitting the water allowing for a much better experience.
