About This Project
This boathouse includes a special custom overhead entertainment cabinet with an 85″ TV mounted behind a large remotely operated door, and also has additional side cabinets for the entertainment center all designed for outdoor use. The system is designed to be its own sun-shield for daytime use as well as night time viewing.
The custom designed stereo system is bluetooth-enabled and so fully remote controlled via almost any smart phone. The music system has live music venue style line-source hanging speakers that are mounted on custom steel beams bolted to the underside of the metal roof below the rafters, angled perfectly to point the music away from neighbors, down into the entertainment area without disturbing the community – unless they are invited of course~!
A large powered 18″ subwoofer is flush-mounted inside the wall of the storage room angled at the bar that helps the entertainment system sound incredible without being too loud – be it watching the big game, music videos, Nascar races, or even family home videos. Mainly though, well-recorded music will sound better out here than on most home stereo systems.
The large 20′ long L-shaped, bi-level entertainment bar features marble countertops and a huge extended high-top bar that wraps around the three cantilevered sunset bar decks that overhang the outside of the perimeter of the boathouse entertainment deck, broken only by a huge dropped down swim deck with special long pilings for night fishing lights.
Guests can watch the entertainment system or they can swing their bar stools around to watch the sunset, or the other guests as they fish, ski or wakeboard out in front of this 2,200 square foot family boathouse and outdoor kitchen complex that sticks 40 feet out from the new galvanized steel bulkhead that protects this very special deep water property.
This entertainment style boathouse dwarfs the neighboring boathouses, with a roof built 12 feet above the main deck to enable tall vessels to be brought in safely from the lake suntops fully opened, or even ski boat wakeboard towers can easily clear this roof design.
Lake Livingston can be a dangerous lake on days when a gentle 3 mph breeze can quickly whip into a 35 mph gale in minutes. especially in the springtime and late fall when the first “northers” start coming down from Canada.
On those most dangerous of days she doesn’t have to worry about getting her vessel safely into port – because there is a custom safety line-up finger pier that sticks an additional 30 feet out into the lake – that is designed to allow her guests to unload quickly and then channel her vessel safely into the slip instead of what can sometimes be a dangerous boat-damaging affair. The pier has tall posts to make sure her guests have something solid and safe to grab onto while disembarking to safety.
With the vessel lined up next to the guide pier, she can simply let the boat gently slide into the slip without worry. She can’t miss the boat slip, and cannot be mis-aligned either, because all of the pilings feature special hard-vinyl roller glides that will funnel her safely onto the waiting customized galvanized steel boat lift frame. Even the lift frame has padded roller guides over its lift cables, so she cannot miss. The frame will move with her~! It makes what every boathouse owner knows can be a stressful situation, into a gentle easy worry-free process.
It makes docking a boat full of family and friends a MUCH safer and simpler process that goes even further because on her keychain is a special remote control that operates her boat lift from the lake. As soon as she gets to the predesignated location she can simply push a button and the lift will gently lift her to safety.
Shoretech Marine has over 30 years of custom boathouse design under its belt so given the budget we can ensure family safety, recreational bliss, and we can guarantee that your marine/shoreline investment dollar will result in a much higher value per dollar than any other marine design/builder in the Southern United States.
Don’t believe that statement? Please let us prove it~! Give us a call so we can compare our design to theirs. Find out what decades of marine construction experience and an extraordinarily high level of architectural shoreline design prowess leads to.
Week 1
It’s getting mighty crowded out here…. the bar and storage room framework is going up quickly. It’ll be a while before you can tell but this will be the spot for many a fun day in the future.
What usually happens on one of my full custom piers/boathouses is… boats start getting dusty and cranky from disuse as people sit around the bar listening to music, consuming adult substances and watching the game – as the evening comes the large recreation area becomes a dance floor and the boat gets jealous~!
Next week things will quickly get fancier. The stereo system is sitting in the shop and the subwoofer, which will get built into the storage room wall, is sitting in the office.
The overhead cabinetry will be large enough for an 87″ TV, but that’s just for future-proofing. It might not even get a TV for a while. Music and sunsets are more important~!

Week 2
With the weekend coming and my guys having a big football (soccer of course!) tournament on Saturday and Sunday – we will all be off on Monday in order to prevent the “hangover on a hundred degree day” problem.
Also, if they win, we will want the celebration to be a good one~!!!
We are all hoping they kick some ass and bring home the trophy – and that $10,000 check ~!!!!!!~
GOOD LUCK GUYS~! KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS TOMORROW~!

Week 3
The Sunset Bar is going to yield the best views of the lake from this boathouseā¦. and you can already tell~! It makes you want a beer already, standing out here at the bar looking at the glasslike water on a 102F day.

Week 4
The Jan Henderson custom boathouse gets a finished metal roof and storage room along with the structure for the overhead entertainment system cabinetry and bar structure by the end of week 4.
The 6,500# overhead lift system is also installed. The customer will be bringing her boat by for us to measure the tri-toon locations so we can complete the lower frame of the lift beam this week.
We should be done [with the roof and lower frame lift] sometime next week. This is going to be a show-stopper for sure.
–
Week 5
The Henderson boathouse now has a new copper colored metal roof, and the boat lift, bar framing, storage room and overhead cabinetry framework is complete. We are now getting close~! Should be done [with carpentry] sometime next week hopefully.

Week 6 – Completed
The Henderson Boathouse Project marine carpentry is finally completed. Selvin Figueroa the foreman and master marine carpenter who ran this project from start to finish is in his 10th year with Shoretech Marine.
This beautifully designed and built project is over next to Beacon Bay in Weaver’s Cove.
Time for Michael Baird’s electricians to come and wire it up.
